John Lawless Counsellor, Mediator and Spiritual Guide
|Why Personal Counselling ?|
Usually people choose to go to counselling because they are experiencing difficulties and distress in their lives. There are times when people might be isolated and feel that they have no one to talk to, but there are other times even when a person has the support of family and friends, they can find it difficult, maybe impossible, to explain what they are feeling. It might be a feeling of anxiety or a depression or a general malaise, a sense of hopelessness or maybe the sense of not knowing what to do about a decsion. At such times it may be easier to talk about personal, family or relationship missues with a trained and experienced person who is independent of family and friends.
Other life issues and events which can be very difficult to deal with include bereavement, divorce, redundancy, health issues or bullying etc. Howvever, it is not necessary to be in a crisis situation in order to come to counselling. You might be seeking to bring more balance to your life or work or you may be searching for a spirituality or meaning.
Coming to counselling is a courageous step and can be a major step towards making changes which will have a lasting effect in your life. It is the start of you taking control of your own life and making of it the life that you want.
In my counselling practice I will provide a safe, confidential and nurturing environment for you. I will listen in a non-judgemnental way to the issues that are of concern to you and encourage you to identify and strengthen your own life and coping skills.
